Travel Tips for Pilgrims

Check out the below-mentioned travel tips for your scared tour:

  • Check the Appropriate Travel TimeChar Dham temples are open between May and October, with May-June considered the best time to visit due to favourable climatic conditions, but it may be crowded. Additionally, September-October is the best time to go if you want to witness the Himalayas in its most beautiful form. Furthermore, it is not recommended to plan this journey in monsoon months because heavy rainfall can lead to landslides and road blockages.
  • Pack Wisely — One needs to pack warm clothes like woollen, thermals, gloves, and jackets as the temperature can drop to low levels, especially during the night. Besides this, considering the unpredictable weather at high-altitude regions, it is always better to bring a raincoat or umbrella. Also, do carry medicines for altitude sickness, fever, and body pain. In addition, bring ID proof and Yatra permit.
  • Participation in Physical Activities — One also needs to prepare physically for this challenging pilgrimage as Kedarnath and Yamunotri entail climbing uphill at high altitudes. Therefore, prepare well by starting light exercises and walking a few weeks in advance. In addition, staying hydrated is advised. Also, stay away from alcohol or heavy meals.
  • Advance Booking — As the holy Yatra is very popular among the large mass of devotees, prior arrangements for accommodation and transport are highly recommended. Moreover, for road travel, pre-booking taxis or tempo travellers are recommended to avoid any last-minute hassles. Also, reservations for helicopter services must be made in advance since they are in great demand.
